Come join us on our travels to the enchanting mountains of Santa Barbara. We spent six days in Santa Barbara County in early February. The weather was a perfect 70 degrees everyday with a slight ocean breeze. We hiked, we biked, we disconnected from the world. We spent a few hours eating and drinking our way through Solvang and finished with a nap on the beach. We spent two days fishing and exploring Lake Cachuma and we would highly recommend coming back here as a camping destination. Our home base was Rancho Oso campground which is part of Thousand Trails. It was a beautiful, secluded, woodsy campground with very limited reception. That could be good or bad depending on what your needs are. It was perfect for our needs at this time. There are full hook-up sites that are pretty but a little too close together and partial hook-ups in a more woodsy area that will give you more of the traditional camping experience. We opted for the partial hook-ups and just went easy on our water usage. This trip was thankfully without any hiccups with the exception of a toilet clog when we went to the dumping station, but that is all part of the adventure. We can't wait to come back to the lovely part of California. Next up, Sedona!
