Kyiv is a monumental city, home to some of the most impressive and imposing religious structures and war memorials that you'll find anywhere in the former Soviet Union.

In my third Kyiv installment, I take you to the impressive Pechersk Lavra Monastery (the "Monastery of the Caves") for some views of this impressive religious complex (the caves and catacombs were unfortunately closed during my visit). From there, I visit the impressive World War II Museum and the larger-than-life Motherland Monument, overlooking the city of Kyiv.

Both of these attractions are not to be missed on your next trip to Ukraine's capital city.
