It's finally happening! From October 11th Japan will be resuming visa-free travel for tourists! No need to book through a tour group or travel agency this time and there's no daily limit! If you're from a country that was apart of the visa-waiver program before the pandemic then you will not need to apply for any sort of visa from October 11th onwards. Please check with your embassy for any extra updates in the future.
