Written more than 800 years ago, the Rihlah is the chronicle of a Spanish Muslim who travelled to Egypt, the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, Baghdad, Jerusalem, and the Norman Kingdom of Sicily. Containing highly-detailed and graphic description of the places Ibn Jubayr visited, this work has become a foundation of the creative travelogue genre.
