Did you know that there are legally enforceable rules regarding avoiding collisions with other boats? The good news is that the navigation rules book is like a set of instructions. It tells you what to do, what not to do, and when to do it. It’s time to stop pretending that you know the rules by going around saying “might has right” and its just “common sense”. It doesn’t and it isn’t! It’s like telling a traffic cop you didn’t know there were rules about texting and driving or wearing a seat belt.

The 4th of July is the most dangerous day of the year on the water. Be safe. Have fun. Learn the Rules.
